A sommarli in tutta la vita non fanno forse nemmeno una settimana. I tempi del dolore sono più lunghi per tutti. Ma la vita ci dà sempre qualche compenso.

Anna Magnani (Roma, 1908 – Roma, 1973) è stata un’attrice italiana.
È considerata una delle più grandi attrici della storia del cinema italiano e mondiale. Fu una delle figure preminenti della romanità cinematografica del XX secolo, insieme ad Aldo Fabrizi e Alberto Sordi. Nella sua carriera ha ottenuto due nomination all’Oscar e ne ha vinto uno. Raggiunge la fama mondiale nel 1945 e vince il suo primo Nastro d’Argento grazie all’interpretazione nel film manifesto del Neorealismo, Roma città aperta di Roberto Rossellini.
Nel 1947 vince il suo secondo Nastro d’Argento e il premio per la miglior attrice alla Mostra internazionale d’arte cinematografica di Venezia per il film L’onorevole Angelina diretto da Luigi Zampa. Il 21 marzo 1956 è la prima interprete italiana nella storia degli Academy Awards a vincere il Premio Oscar come migliore attrice protagonista, conferitole per l’interpretazione di Serafina Delle Rose nel film La rosa tatuata, del 1955, con Burt Lancaster, per la regia di Daniel Mann.
Per lo stesso ruolo, vincerà anche un BAFTA quale attrice internazionale dell’anno e il Golden Globe per la migliore attrice in un film drammatico.

She is considered one of the greatest actresses in the history of Italian and world cinema. She was one of the leading figures of Roman cinema of the 20th century, along with Aldo Fabrizi and Alberto Sordi. In her career, she received two Oscar nominations and won one. She achieved worldwide fame in 1945 and won her first Silver Ribbon for her performance in the manifesto film of Neorealism, Rome, Open City by Roberto Rossellini.
In 1947, she won her second Silver Ribbon and the award for best actress at the Venice International Film Festival for the film L’onorevole Angelina directed by Luigi Zampa. On March 21, 1956, she became the first Italian performer in the history of the Academy Awards to win the Academy Award for Best Actress, awarded to her for her performance as Serafina Delle Rose in the 1955 film The Rose Tattoo, with Burt Lancaster, directed by Daniel Mann.
For the same role, she would also win a BAFTA as International Actress of the Year and the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.
