Sade Adu o semplicemente Sade (Ibadan, 1959) è una cantante, compositrice e produttrice discografica britannica di origine nigeriana.
La sua carriera musicale iniziò negli anni ’80 come cantante di due gruppi funk britannici, Arriva e Pride, prima di formare con alcuni membri di Pride la band che porta il suo nome, Sade. Il gruppo debuttò nel 1984 con l’album Diamond Life, che vendette oltre sei milioni di copie e conteneva successi come Smooth Operator e Your Love Is King. Questo album la consacrò come una delle voci più eleganti e raffinate del pop-jazz internazionale.
Nel corso della sua carriera, Sade ha pubblicato numerosi album di successo, tra cui Promise (1985), Stronger Than Pride (1988), Love Deluxe (1992), Lovers Rock (2000) e Soldier of Love (2010), vendendo oltre 50 milioni di dischi nel mondo. Ha vinto diversi premi, tra cui un Grammy Award come miglior artista emergente nel 1986 e un Grammy nel 2002 per il miglior album pop vocale.
