El artista Sergio Martínez Cifuentes, nació en Concepción, Chile, 7 de julio de 1966.
En la primera etapa, le gusto el realismo descriptivo, mostrando un gran control sobre la forma y contenido, llenándolos de elegante colores. Su tema principal ahora es el paisaje. En 1987 realizo sus primeros retratos y desnudos, se ha convertido en un nuevo reto para él. A partir de los ’90 el desnudo es el tema que está presente en casi todos sus cuadros.
De 2000 a 2003, se tomó un descanso de su trabajo. Una vez que comienza, el espectador puede notar características interesantes:Reemplazo, pinturas al óleo, acrílicas, de atención a la textura, pero lo más importante, ha cambiado su interés a los detalles y el acabado, el interés en los gestos de los personajes y de la intensidad de la luz y de la sombra.
