Valentina Casadei was born in Ravenna, in 1993.
She graduated at the Dams University in Bologna, in Cinema History. Later she moved to Paris where she completed a Master in Screenwriting and Directing at Eicar. Casadei completed an annual Screenwriting Workshop at Bottega Finzioni in Bologna and she is currently enrolled in the Atelier Scénario 2021 at La Fémis in Paris under the supervision of Jacques Akchoti.
In 2016 and 2017, she directed two short films, “All About Emily” and “Blessed Days”, which have been selected in some international film festivals and distributed by Artex Film. “End of September”, her first professional short film, is produced by First Child Productions and received fundings from the Emilia Romagna Film Commission, in Italy. It is currently distributed by Tiny Distribution (sales agent: Zen Movie) and it had its premiere at El Gouna Film Festival (Egypt). The short film has been selected in the 46th Oscar® Qualifying OFF – Odense International Film Festival (Denmark).
Casadei is a programmer/juror for seven international film festivals and I’m currently working on new projects between Italy and France.
She has published three collections of poems.
